» Shaka - The Music

Shaka’s music can be categorized as "rock music", however the artistic variety reflected in their songs, shows influences from genres such as jazz, blues, classic rock and modern contemporary. Each song is unique though distinctively "Shaka".

Throughout the years Shaka has evolved in their music. Changes in style, new ideas as well as the addition of new band members have changed the musical direction of the band and are well reflected in their latest songs.

The songs evoke emotions. The lyrics tell stories the listener can relate to. Instruments and voices interact playfully with each other, the rhythms are dynamic and the listener is often left with a bit of song "stuck in their head" for the rest of the day.

But they are not the "light kind of listening", their songs challenge you, the lyrics surprise with their stories and ideas, and the combinations of instruments each uniquely fitting to the idea the song wants to convey keeps you captive. The slow and romantic ballads with piano, saxophone and string quartet or the powerful rock songs that uses the whole register of instruments and voices to express the song, each shows the talent of the band and reflect the musical background of each of the band members.
